Dear Customers,

Welcome to the website of the Galveston County Water Control and Improvement District No.1 (WCID#1) located in Dickinson, Texas.  Watch this site for information about "The Water Company".  If you need us for emergencies, our 24 hour number is our main number,  281-337-1576.  If you call that number, either our customer service staff or an on-call operator will contact the right members of our staff to help you.

Special Notice on Water Rate Changes

Effective September 1, 2014 the District has increased its water rates to be able to continue to provide quality service to you.  Our ongoing costs for treated water and for operations of the district continue to grow and this rate change will help offset those rising costs.  This is not something that the Board of Directors takes lightly.  This District works hard to continue to update our aging infrastructure and that is directly related to the high quality of our service and the dependability of the drinking water system.   You can pick up a copy of our rates at the main office and we will have the rate table here, on the site, very shortly.  Thank you for your understanding.

Important New Drought Info - October 08, 2014

The Brazos River Basin, from where all of our drinking water originates, remains under drought condition.  While we have had a very rainy summer here locally, the Brazos River reservoir water levels continue to be below  normal and have yet to receive much needed rainfall.   In September, DOW Freeport had paced a "senior call" on the river as they were not getting the water they needed and were permitted for out of the river.  Some rains have now cancelled that "call", however we here at the District plan to continue on our Voluntary Stage II plan.   You may take a look at the Drought Map of the Brazos river Basin here at http://www.brazos.org/DroughtStatus.asp .

As of Monday, September 8, 2014, The Water Company enacted Stage II of our own Drought Contengency Plan and we now continue to ask that you reduce your overall water usage.  Further, we ask that if you must water outdoors to do so only betweeen the hours of 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM.  If water levels in the Brazos River and its reservoirs do not improve, we will be forced to implement further water use restrictions under our own plan.  Here at the Water Company, we will also reduce the amount of water taken from the Gulf Coast Water Authority by using our own water wells.  Please do everything that you can to reduce your water consumption to insure a stable supply of water for all the citizens of Dickinson and of the County as a whole.   We will keep you informed about the status of our water supply in the Brazos River as conditions change.  Rain in the Brazos River Watershed is still so very much needed.

Our Next Regular Board Meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 26, 2015 at 6:00 pm the Council Chambers in Dickinson City Hall.

Please Note: We often get customer service requests that are not within our District. We only serve the City of Dickinson, TX and the area immediately around the City. Before you contact us, please check your bill to verify that we are your provider as we cannot help you if we are not. If you write us or contact us, please include your name, service address, an email address or a phone number so we get in back touch with you. Thank you.
