Important Information about The Reporting Violation Notice You Received this Month

Dear Customers,

By now, you will have received a notice in your water bill concerning a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) reporting violation.  First and foremost, your water is and has been safe to drink.  All required testing was completed on our drinking water, but the Third Quarter of 2015 report was sent to TCEQ late.  The only violation was that the report arrived late to the TCEQ in Austin.  The notice you received was required language from TCEQ.  Four steps are listed in the notice and all, but the timely reporting was completed.  First, we are required to properly disinfect water before distribution.  This step was and is complete and ongoing. Second, we are required to maintain acceptable disinfection residuals within the distribution system.  This too is always done by the District and was done during the 3rd quarter.  Third, we are required to monitor the disinfectant residual at various locations throughout the distribution system.  This requirement was met and is always met as a part of our ongoing operations.  Fourth and finally, we must report the results of that monitoring to the TCEQ on a quarterly basis.  We submitted this report late.  We did, however, catch the error and had already sent the 3rd quarter report before we received the letter from TCEQ requiring us to notify each of you.  We take the quality of your drinking water seriously and apologize to each of you if our error caused you any concern for the quality of our drinking water.  Your water is Safe to Drink.  We have taken steps to insure that this does not happen again.  A copy of the Mandatory Language Notice is found here on our website under the Announcements Tab on the left side of the home page.
