Dear Customers,

Welcome to the website of the Galveston County Water Control and Improvement District No.1 (WCID#1) located in Dickinson, Texas.  Watch this site for information about "The Water Company".  If you need us for emergencies, our 24 hour number is our main number,  281-337-1576.  If you call that number, either our customer service staff or an on-call operator will contact the right members of our staff to help you.

Water Conservation Time

We have hit the hot part of our summer here in Dickinson.  That means that our overall water use goes up due in part to lawn watering, slab watering and swimming pools.  While we are well within our allotted water amounts, we ask that you always remember to conserve water.  Please do not over water your lawns.  Do not forget to turn off your outside hoses if lawn watering or slab watering.   Inside we still find a leaking toilet flapper to be the single biggest waster of water.  Check them often.  I am proud of the fact that Dickinson knows how to conserve.  We just ask that you really think about your water use during these hot summer months.

We Need Your Help - August 10, 2016

The Water Company is requesting your assistance in the possible collection of a water samples. We are required by the TCEQ to do periodic lead/copper monitoring every three years. Section 290 in the Texas Rules and Regulations requires us to test at 30 specific sites, these 30 locations were tested previously in 09-2013. We are now required to have an approved list of 30 alternative sites as well. We are inquiring if you would be interested in being an alternate site for our sampling. We would only need your assistance if one of our original sites is no longer available. The requirements to be eligible are that your home have copper piping in it and be built before 1983. The sample is collected by the customer from inside your home first draw in the morning and only once every three years. We will provide the bottle, instructions, and pick up the sample. If your home meets these requirements and you would be willing to be on the list please contact Darrell Hartwick, Operations Superintendent at 281-534-8350.

Our Next Regular Board Meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 19, 2016 at 5:00 pm in the Council Chambers in Dickinson City Hall.
