Be aware of phishing attacks. The district will never email you asking for any of your credentials. These are malicious attempts to steal your passwords and/or personal information. If you have received any of these, please delete them immediately. The district takes cyber security seriously.
In addition, WCID #1 is advising customers about how to prevent payment scams after water utility districts in other parts of Texas have reported fraudulent activity targeting customers, particularly those with commercial accounts.
If you receive a call or text instructing you to pay a large sum of money for a water bill, disregard it and DO NOT provide any information to the caller/text message.
WCID will only text customers who have past-due accounts subject to service cut-offs. WCID mails two notices to these customers before sending a text asking them to pay through the WCID website or by calling or visiting the Customer Service office.
Dickinson’s Water District encourages customers to bookmark our official website at wcid1.com. If you receive one of these calls or texts or ever doubt if you are speaking to a WCID employee, call WCID Customer Service, 281-337-1576, Option 1.
