Galveston County WCID #1 will be switching to a new and improved accounting and customer billing system Sept. 26-Oct. 1. During the change, WCID will not be able to accept online payments beginning at 3 p.m. Sept. 25 through Oct. 1.

Galveston County WCID #1 is working in partnership with the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) to develop a Hazard Mitigation Plan. The public is invited to attend and provide input at its kick-off steering committee meeting.

Galveston County WCID #1 and the Gulf Coast Water Authority (GCWA), our community’s wholesale water provider, have issued their 2023 annual water quality reports. WCID #1’s 2023 report shows that our drinking water meets or exceeds all federal and state standards and is safe.

AmeriWaste, the district’s solid waste service company, provides backdoor garbage collection for customers with severe disabilities and no other persons in their households who can roll their carts to the street.

WCID #1 is advising customers about how to prevent payment scams after water utility districts in other parts of Texas have reported fraudulent activity targeting customers, particularly those with commercial accounts.

Free hazardous waste and electronics recycling services are available for Dickinson’s water district residential customers by appointment at the Stella Roberts Recycling Center in Pearland. This service is offered through a partnership with the nonprofit Keep Pearland Beautiful.
